Fête d’Adieu

Tonight, my study abroad program Sweet Briar hosted a “Fête d’Adieu,” or a good-bye party for us, with plenty of hors d’oeuvres and drinks. Initially, there wasn’t a lot of adieu-ing because everybody was literally inhaling the delicious mini-sun-dried tomato bites and the foie gras sandwiches, and then washing it down with red wine. But then after I slowly resurfaced from my food paralysis, I realized that only the people in this room have some sort of real understanding of what my semester in Paris was like.
