Quick and Cheap(ish) NYC Bites

Since there’s so much to do and see in the big city, I often find myself looking for just a quick, cheap bite to eat, whether it’s a sit down or a literal grab n go. So if you happen to be wandering around yourself and need some recs, here are some of my most recent stops with location and quick comments. Everything is quick.

Totto Ramen – Midtown West, Midtown East, Hell’s Kitchen

Spicy Miso Ramen

Broadway Bites – right by Herald Square/Koreatown. A bunch of great food stands where you can get pretty much any type of food or drink.

Spicy Chicken, Pork Belly, and Shitake Yuzu Kosho Onigiri

Gahm Mi Oak – Koreatown, 32nd and Broadway – get the Ox bone soup. It’s warm, filling, healthy, and easy to eat. I HIGHLY recommend it as this is my go-to when I’m craving something quick and easy and Korean.

The Melt Shop – I had the Fried Chicken melt, which is a combination of everything good in life (several around the city)

Fried Chicken Grilled Cheese

Shake Shack – several around the city. The SmokeShack is actually pretty spicy. If you’re a vegetarian, there is the ShroomBurger, which I LOVE. Cheese literally oozes out of a portabello mushroom. Quick, cheap eat.

Pure Thai Cookhouse – Hell’s Kitchen. Hole-in-the-wall Thai place. Service is quick and the food is really really REALLY good and authentic. Highly recommend it.

Pork and Crab Dry Noodles
